Folios 170-171. A letter from the [Lord President] Carmarthen to [King William III] congratulating him over his victory at Drogheda [at the Battle of the Boyne]. The great Council urges the King and troops to now return speedily from Ireland. They have ordered the squadron under [Admiral Cloudesley] Shovell to a station where he can secure the King's transit, but they have kept these order secret from the Admiralty, which believes he is being sent after French frigates being launched at Brest.
