Folios 111-114. An unsigned letter [from Queen Mary II] to the King, dated at Whitehall [Middlesex] acknowledging one from him dated at Belfast [Ireland] on 16 June 1690. Mentions a meeting of the Lords of the cabinet council, attended by the Lord Prt [?President, Marquis of Carmarthen], the Lord Chamberlain [Earl of Dorset], and [the Earl of] Marlborough, concerning [criminal cases] to be reprieved and transported. Mary says she relayed William's preference, in the case of [?Philip] MacQuire [McGuire], that he be hanged, as the King opposes pardons for burglary. The parson has been examined upon a report that Lord Feversham forbade him to say prayers for success in Ireland. Mary has a swollen face, and one eye remains sore, for which she has had leeches applied, and the Queen Dowager [Catherine of Braganza], who has visited, has sent a compliment. Monsieur Schalembourgh has written about money, in an [unspecified] affair involving Lord Not [Nottingham], Mr Escart and Lord Marlborough, who wish to prorogue parliament. Lord Fitzharding has no estate yet in Somersetshire so may be unable to serve as lord lieutenant, and only custos rotulorum. The Duke of Bolton will 'lose nothing for want of asking', but asks it for his son. Encloses a letter for Monsieur d'Ablancourt.
