Description

Folios 102-103. A letter from the Marquis of [Lord President] Carmarthen to King [William III], dated at London, concerning difficulties with committing sensitive intelligence to the ordinary post or expresses, an inconvenience also suffered by Malburow [the Earl of Marlborough]. Mentions: [Post Master General] Major [John] Wildman; addressing correspondence via Monsieur Munmouth [?Monmouth] at Amsterdam [Netherlands]; news heard by Lord Munmouth of 5,000 troops landing in Scotland, brought by a messenger who'd made the journey to London in 48 hours; and [orders] from lords of the cabinet council that regiments from Holland might camp in Hyde Park [Middlesex].
