Folios 170-171. Prince of Waldeck to the King from the camp at Tongerell. Enclosing a journal detailing the state of affairs and progress of the campaign. He considers the news of the success or otherwise of the bombardment of Bonn very uncertain. He has reviewed the English troops and find that rank and file, they amount to 5,200 (excluding the sick and detached). Including officers they are more than 6,000, not counting the cavalry which accounted for four squadrons with over 500 horses. They are well organised, to the credit of Mallebrouck [Marlborough] and his Colonels. The Dukes of Northumberland and d'Ormont conduct themselves so well that everyone is satisfied.
