Folio 148. General Schoning to the Prince of Waldeck from Neus [Nuys?]. The Elector of Bandenbourg [Brandenburg] wishes to see all the cavalry, Dutch as well as Brandenburger, on th 5th or 6th. The Elector wishes to camp at [Sous?] while the detachment takes the fort at Bonn, after which they want to bombard the town from the other side of the Rhine. Things are difficult and the Cavalry will soon be in a bad state. They were not pleased that Waldeck's artillery had to stay a Disseldorp, of which M. Ham will write more, Schoning would have much preferred that Colonel Lanoy remained with M. Delwig as he needs a man like him. They are persisting in making a fort on the other side of the Rhine from Bonn and to leave 1,500 horses to block the city after having ruined it, but M. Barfus who commands the detachment seeking to take the fort is going very slowly.
