Folios 55-56. Copy of a letter from General Schoning to the Prince of Waldeck, reporting events from the day before at Meurs, where he saw 'l'Intendant Vilars" and Lieutenant Colonel Fabry who has most influence over Bernsau, the governor of the place. He promised to ensure their success and in return Schoning promised to give back to him the cross the Elector had removed from him and to allow him to return to their service. Schoning has built a redoubt at Kaiserwerth and proposes to bombard that place. He discusses sending mortars and bombs back to Cologne, speculating that the garrison may be in revolt as deserters from the garrison are coming in each day. The bridge at Treves is blown up and great activity prevails at Bonn and Montroyal. They are cutting all the woods around Bonn and preparing for a siege. If Lunenburg troops were to withdraw it would leave a gap in his forces.
