Folios 19-20. Ernest Augustus, Duke of Brunswick and Lunenburg at Hanover to the King. Asking his Majesty to take the Island of Noirmoutier [Bay of Biscay, Vendée] under his protection. It belongs to the Duchess of Brachiane. There is no strong place or even a walled town in the island. The Dutch fleet laid it waste during the last war, and the same thing may happen again, unless the King can grant this favour.
