Folios 595-596: Man [Mann] Dobson, Regulating Captain, Bristol. He is enclosing the case of John Peter Brian as stated by Lieutenant Pitman.
Folios 597-598: enclosure with folios 595-596. Petition dated 27 May 1815 from William Brian to the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, Admiralty Office, London. His son John brain, about 17 years old, entered the service on 24 May [1815] at Bristol and is now on board the tender in Kingroad wishing to be discharged. He was never at sea. Asks for his discharge to be granted on moderate terms.
Folio 599: enclosure with folios 595-596. Letter dated 31 May 1815 from Lieutenant William Pitman to Captain Man Dobson, Regulating Officer, Bristol. John Peter Brian, aged 18 years 10 months, physical description give, born in Devon, rated 2nd Class Boy volunteered at the Rendezvous on 24 [May 1815] and stated that he was shoe maker by trade belonging to Bristol and was determined to enter the service and his friends were agreeable for him to do so. he was sent on board HMS Enchantress as a fit subject for the navy.
