Folios 160-166. Petition of Mary Young who was convicted and sentenced to death at the Old Bailey for stealing a gold watch, the property of Josiah Humphreys, from the dwelling house where she lodged. Charles Thomson was convicted with her. She was respited and Mr Recorder Adair was asked for his opinion. He says there was no doubt about her guilt and as she and Thompson were believed to have committed similar offences she was not a fit subject for mercy. However as she had already spent over a year in prison he recommends that she be kept to hard labour in a House of Correction for 5 months.
