Folio 275. Letter dated at Dublin from the Earl of Seaforth to his cousin Sir Donald Mackdonald of Sclaitt [Sleat]. 'It gives me great satisfaction to hear of the readiness of you and your men to serve the King, which is the greatest proof you can give of your loyalty. Nothing shall be wanting on my part to do you right and kindness, and that I may appear a true gentlemen, pray order some one in your island to have a fine plaid ready for me'.
