Folios 251-254. Letter dated at Sheerness from Lord Portland to the King that he would have sailed but for the fault of the ship's captain; and is glad to have learnt the King's sentiments about the troublesome affair on which he (Portland) is going and will take measures to avert them the moment he arrives. He expresses his intention to serve the King's interests at all hazards; discusses the state of affairs in Holland; and will learn the King's sentiments more fully before telling the people in Holland of them.
