Indenture of lease or mortgage, for 5/-, by Edward Sleyman, of Ewell, gent., to George Lewen, of Ewell, esq., of a newly erected messuage in Ewell [described]. For 500 years, rent a peppercorn. The purpose of the mortgage is the better securing the payment of a sum of 1051 on 20 April 1724 as by a bond of 19 April last appears. Witnesses. Red wax Seal of Sleyman: Armorial, quarterly, 1st and 4th barry a canton, 2nd and 3rd three lions rampant (?). Attached to the foregoing are renewals of the mortgage dated 29 Sept. 1724 and 29 June 1727 in consideration of further loans to Edward Sleyman.
