Administrative / biographical background

The Regional Assemblies of England were established originally by the Regional Development Agencies Act 1998. The West Midlands Regional Assembly was the regional assembly for the West Midlands region. It was abolished on 31 March 2010, its functions transferring to West Midlands Leaders Board and to Advantage West Midlands.
