Ernest Augustus, Duke of Brunswick and Lunenburg, to the Prince of Orange expressing his mortification at seeing Mr de Benting [Bentinck] leave without being able to satisfy the demand he made of him [Ernst Augustus] on behalf of the Prince of Orange. He prayed he [Bentinck] would represent to the Prince of Orange the reasons why, such that He would understand that he [Ernest Augustus] could not have done otherwise.
