Part 2, Folio 113. An assessment of the scarcity of military resources in Scotland, which makes it vulnerable to a surprise invasion. There is presently one regiment of foot; three companies of Douglas's [Clan Douglas] regiment; detachments at Edinburgh, Stirling Castle [Stirlingshire], and Dumbarton Castle [Dunbartonshire]; some foot at Leith [Midlothian]; and some hussars and dragoons.
