Part 2, Folios 101-102. A manuscript draft copy of a poem entitled 'The Nine', of nine stanzas of 8 lines each, with amendments. The first line: 'A thin ill-natured ghost that haunts the King, Till him and us he doth to ruin bring'. [The Bodleian Library suggests the poem might be by John Sheffield,1st Duke of Buckingham and Normanby]. It lampoons the nine members of Queen Mary's 'cabinet council' while King William III was in Flanders. The council included: Lord President, Lord Danby; Lord Steward, Devonshire; Lord Chamberlain Dorset; first Lord of the Admiralty Pembroke; first lord of the Treasury, [Sir John] Lowther; Secretary of State Nottingham; Marlborough; Monmouth and Russell].
