Description

Part 2, Folios 83-84. Minutes of the lords spiritual and temporal, dated at the Guildhall [London], on the measure taken [after King James II's departure from England] and their orders to the Earl of Pembroke, Lord Weymouth, the Bishop of Ely, and Lord Colepepper to wait on the Prince of Orange. Sir John Knatchbul for Kent, and Sir William Thomas and Sir Thomas Dyke for Sussex, ordered to seize [Roman Catholic] priests. Mentions the roles of: Mr [Bevill] Skelton, lieutenant of the Tower of London; the Lord Mayor of London [John Chapman]; the Earl of Craven, lord lieutenant of the militia of Middlesex, Westminster, and Southwark; the Earl of Feversham; Lord Dartmouth; Lord Lucas; Earl of Rochester; Earl of Midleton; Lord Preston; Mr Cooper; Earl of Salisbury; and Heneage Finch.
