Second Party: Thomas, earl of Lancaster, the king's nephew.
Place or Subject: The king grants to the earl and his heirs that they should have forever one market every week on a Tuesday at their manor of Wirkesworth [Wirksworth], Derbys, and one fair there every year to last for three days, namely on the eve and on the feast-day and on the morrow of the Nativity of St Mary, unless that market and those fairs are to the nuisance of neighbouring markets and fairs. And that they should have free warren in all their demesne lands of Staunford [Stamford], Northumberland, provided that they are not within the metes of the king's forest.
