Place or Subject: The king grants to William Briwerr that Brugewalter [Bridgwater] is to be a free borough and that there is to be there a free market and one fair every single year to last for 8 days, namely the 8 days before the Nativity of St John the Baptist until the feast-day of St John the Baptist, with toll, payage, pontage, passage, lastage, stallage and with all liberties and free customs pertaining to the free borough and the market and fair.
