First party: Edward III.
Second Party: Richard de Wylughby [Willoughby] and his fellow justices of the eyre for pleas of the forest in the forest of Henry, earl of Lancaster, of Pikeryng [Pickering].
Place or Subject: Because diverse magnates and other loyal subjects of the king and others of the realm in the king's company have set out towards the parts of Scotland to repress with the help of God the malice of the Scots, who have gathered in a great multitude and entered the marches of the realm and other of the king's lands and tenements in a hostile manner, perpetrating homicides, plunder, burnings and diverse other bad acts there, the king, wishing to make provision for the indempnity of those magnates and loyal subjects so that they are not troubled before the justices in the eyre on account of their absence or for other reasons, while they have stood in the king's business, commands the justices to continue the eyre and all pleas and anything concerning that eyre in the same state in which they now are, until the quindene of Easter next to come.
