Second Party: The canons of Malton.
Place or Subject: The king informs the sheriff of Yorkshire and the foresters and ministers of Pikeryng [Pickering] that the canons of Maltona [Malton] are to have and hold common pasture from the bridge of Hou as far as Kipsike, and their turves, heaths, meadows and coverts yearly to be carried to their house of Maltona [Malton], as freely and justly as they held best held on the day on which Eustace son of John, who gave the premises to them, was alive and dead. They are also to have their fishery in Rie [Rye] and Dervent {Derwent] in free and perpetual alms with all other liberties and free customs, just as royal power can more freely grant to any church.
