Description

Folios: 271-272v. County of Yorkshire. Pleas of the forest of Henry, earl of Lancaster, of Pikeryng [Pickering], held at Pickering before Richard de Wylughby [Willoughby], Robert de Hungerford and John de Hambury, justices itinerant on this occasion assigned to take pleas of the said forest in Yorkshire: Takings of draught-beasts within this forest:

John de Rouceby [Roxby]: They present that one pig of John de Rouceby was found in the park of Blandeby [Blansby Park] in the forbidden month not agisted, worth 2s.

Nicholas son of Richard: They present that two pigs of Nicholas son of Richard, who has died, were found in the forest in the forbidden month not agisted, worth 4s.

Michael the forester: They present that six piglets of Michael the forester were taken in the park of Blandeby [Blansby Park] in the forbidden month, not agisted, worth 3s 6d.

Alan de Alverstan [Allerston]: They present that two horses of Alan de Alverstan [Allerston], who has died, were found in the park of Blandeby [Blansby Park] by the watch without agistment, which are forfeited to the lord, worth 5s.

Ralph the shepherd: They present that two horses, worth 10s, which were of Ralph the Shepherd, who has died, were found there by the watch without agistment, and they are forfeited to the lord.

Richard de Sinelyngton [Sinnington]: They present that one horse, worth 10s, which was of Richard de Sinelyngton [Sinnington], who has died, was found there by the watch without agistment, and it is forfeited to the lord.

Brus Erchebaud: They present that two horses, worth 10s, which were of William Fotyng, who has died, were found there by the watch without agistment, and they are now forfeited.

William Fotyng: They present that two horses, worth 10s, which were of William Fotyng, who has died, were found there by the watch without agistment, and they are now forfeited.

Adam le Stirkhird: They present that 10 sheep, each worth 12d, which were of Adam le Stirkhird, were found there by the watch.

Robert, son of William ad Portam: They present that 16 oxen, each worth 5s, which were of Robert, son of William ad Portam, were found in Aleyntoftes by the watch without agistment.

Roger de Morpath: They present that two oxen, each worth 4s, which were of Roger de Morpath, who has died, were found in the lord's demesnes by the watch.

The preceptor of Fukebrig [Foulbridge]: They present that 40 wethers, which were of the preceptor of Fukebrig [Foulbridge], were found within the demesne of Dalby by the watch, worth 40s.

The vill of Calthorn [Cawthorn]: They present that 50 sheep of the vill of Calthorn [Cawthorn] were found in the demesnes of the lord by the watch, worth £5.

Margaret del Dales: They present that three pigs, worth 6s, and three piglets, worth 9d, which were of Margaret del Dales, who has died, were found in the demesnes of Langedon by the watch.
