Folios: 266v-267v. County of Yorkshire. Pleas of the forest: Presentments upon the articles of the forest at Pykeryng [Pickering] before Richard de Wylughby [Willoughby], Robert de Hungerford and John Hambury, justices:
William Shaketre: They present that William, who has died, has taken one greenwood oak within the demesne, worth 1d.
Robert son of Alexander: They present that Alexander has taken 40 packs of greenwood in the hay of Scalby within the demesne, worth 5s, and was sent away by mainprise until this assize, and they have not now come, etc. Therefore to judgement about his mainpernors.
Alan Beaufrount of Scardeburgh [Scarborough]: They present that Alan, who has died, took two 'stubbes' of greenwood in the said hay within the demesne, worth 6d.
William Wodeman: They present that William, who has died, took one greenwood oak and thorns by packhorse in the hay of Scalby within the demesne, worth 1d.
Richard Neucomen of Suthfeld: They present that Richard, who has died, took branches of oak and saplings in the hay of Scalby within the demesne, worth 2d.
Walter Payn: They present that Walter, who has died, has taken oak branches and saplings there within the demesne at night, worth 1d.
Alan, son of Alexander de Neuby [Newby]: They present that Thomas, who has died, has taken greenwood in le Caheuedes within the demesne, worth 1d.
Thomas Russell: They present that Thomas, who has died, has taken greenwood in le Caheuedes within the demesne, worth 1d.
Humphrey Tober: They present that Humphrey, who has died, took 11 greenwood oaks in Wheledale [Welldale] within the demesne, each worth 1d, and he carried them with one wagon and six oxen, which are appraised, namely a wagon at 6d, and six oxen at 16s, the price of each 2s 8d.
John de Lyndryk [Lindrick]: They present that John, who has died, took 11 greenwood oaks in Wheledale [Welldale] within the demesne, each worth 1d, and he carried them with one wagon and six oxen, which are appraised, namely a wagon at 6d and the oxen at 20s, the price of each 3s 4d.
Alice Sedman: They present that Alice, who has died, took 11 greenwood oaks in Wheledale [Welldale] within the demesne, each worth 1d, and she carried them with one wagon and six oxen, which are appraised, namely a wagon at 6d and the oxen at 18s, the price of each 3s.
Thomas del Hunthous: They present that Thomas, who has died, took there six greenwood oaks within the demesne, each worth 6d.
Thomas de Werdale: They present that Thomas took one greenwood oak in the wood of Roston [Ruston] and Wicham {Wykeham] outside the demesne without livery of the forester and without warrant. Therefore he is in mercy.
Simon, late servant of the prior of Bridlyngton [Bridlington]: They present that Simon, who has died, William son of Margery, a feller of wood, and Reginald de Scalby, carrier, have felled one greenwood oak at night in Foulwod [Fullwood] within the demesne, worth 2d, to the use of the same prior. And they carried and delivered that oak with a wagon worth 40d and four oxen, worth two marks, to the same prior, who has now died, to answer now thereupon, etc, as if forfeited.
Simon, late servant of the prior of Bridlyngton [Bridlington]: They present that Simon took one greenwood oak in the hay of Scalby within the demesne, worth 2s, to the use of the prior.
John Blank: They present that John, who has died, has taken bark of one oak in Daleby [Dalby] within the demesne, worth 4d, which Henry Cokerel cut off and took away.
Peter de Neville: They present that Peter, who has died, has taken one greenwood oak in Ohwerdale within the demesne, worth 2d.
Ralph Derlyng: They present that Ralph, who has died, took three cartloads of timber in Sneynton [Snainton] outside the desmene without livery of the foresters and without warrant.
Richard Choleman of Brumpton [Brompton]: They present that Richard took two oaks in Troucedale outside the demesne without livery of the foresters and without warrant. Therefore he is in mercy.
Held on: Monday next after Michaelmas 8 Edw III.
