William de Roston: Sum total £12 18s ½d. Whereupon upon William de Roston £6 13s 6d, because he ought to be entirely charged for 28 years, as appears in the schedule. And upon William de Plays, tenant of the lands of Roger de Morpath, one of the agisters, 6s 4½d. And upon Ralph Bettesone and Margaret, daughter and heir of Robert, son of Ralph de Aton, tenants of the lands and tenements of the said Robert, 10s 2¼d. And upon Alice atte Boure, executrix of William de Boure, 21s 5d. And upon Robert Plays, tenant of the lands of Robert de Stapelton, 58s 3½d. And upon William Russell, one of the agisters, 28s 3d.

And because it is witnessed that they are overvalued 10s 4d, therefore they are to answer.

Roger le Long of Pikeryng [Pickering], clerk of the castle: Because the same Roger de Pert and Roger Broun have paid nothing from the years 1 to 15 Edw I, nor have they handed over the rolls or other muniments, and it is witnessed by all the ministers of this forest that Roger le Long of Pikeryng [Pickering], clerk of the castle, throughout the said years took the whole profit of the pannage from the said years, which is estimated by the same ministers at 45s, therefore the same Roger is to be thereupon charged.

Richard Russel and John Dryng, agisters of the same ward: They pay 27s from the years 16 to 20 Edw II and 1 to 9 Edw III. And the ministers bear witness that the pannage of the same ward throughout the said time was not valued more. Therefore they are only charged thereupon.

Robert de Camera of Snaynton [Snainton] and Robert le Serjant, agisters of the same ward: They answer from 10 and 11 Edward III for the pannage of pigs of the same ward 12d. Roger le Long: There came the said Roger and he says that he is unjustly charged in the instant eyre of 45s for the pannage of Westward [the West Ward] for 15 years, as he says that he at that time was clerk of John de Dalton, then constable of the said castle, at the time of Thomas, late earl of Lancaster, then lord of the said castle. And that he from the mandate of the said John his master received the said money to the use of the said lord Thomas on diverse occasions, which he delivered immediately to the reeves of the said castle, who are allowed from the same money before the auditors of the said lord Thomas to be possessed upon their account, and this he is ready to verify, just as the court considers, and he seeks that he is to be charged in this matter.
