Description

Folio: 152. Northumberland. Grant.

First party: John Viscount of Stanford [Stamford], son of John Viscount of Stamford.

Second party: William Heyron.

Place or subject: The whole of John's lordship with his capital messuage, which is fenced off (defenso), and a moiety of his peat-bog (petarii) in Neutona [Newton], with all appurtenances, as freely as John held the said lordship, in the vill of Newton for William's homage and service, except the great meadow and le Crokes, which John retains in his hands. Namely, those 40 acres of land which John held in his hands in the same vill, and those 40 acres of land which Adam Mandever and William de Bedenal [Beadnell] held with two tofts, as freely as they held them. and that land which William Noreis and Christiana, his wife, hold for the term of the life of the said Christiana, paying yearly to William Heyron and his heirs and assigns 6d, and after the decease of Christiana the whole land is to remain to William Heyron and his heirs and assigns. and two bovates of land, which William son of Reginald held with appurtenances, and with the said William and his whole following, with the meadow of Rafinspol, and with Milnacker and le Hesdacker.
