First party: William de Ferrar' [Ferrers], earl of Derby.
Second party: Luke de Derby, reeve, Geoffrey de Derby, clerk, and their heirs.
Place or subject: All those lands with appurtenances and liberties in the territory of Blakemor and Derby, which they hold of the earl in the vills of Derby, just as well, freely or quietly as Grumming or Gamell, Roger or Richard, their ancestors, ever formerly held them of King William, namely two bovates and two crofts within two boundaries and one cultivated field of land, which is called le Flaye, and two selions in Langeforlong, and one selion by Tounlawe with the burgage, formerly of Richard the reeve, in the vill of Derby, and one portion of land of the earl's waste outside the ancient ditch by the house of the said Luke of 40 perches in length and 20 in width, without diminution of pasture from the said ancient ditch in width to Thorpornedale, and in length from la Mersh to Thingwalerudyng, with housebote and haybote in the said grove of Derby, to build and enclose those lands, and all kinds of greenwood and dry wood, standing and lying, to do all things necessary for them, without any opposition from the earl or of his heirs, without view of the foresters, and without nuisance or impediment or harm of any of the earl's bailiffs.
