Description

Folios: 98v-99. County of Lancaster Eyre of the forest of Henry, earl of Lancaster, in Lancashire.

Writ.

First party: Edward III.

Second party: William le Blount, Henry de Hambury, William Basset and Robert de Sadyngtone [Saddington], itinerant justices in the same forest.

Place or subject: At the request of Henry, earl of Lancaster, the king appoints the said William, Henry, William and Robert, three and two of them, as justices itinerant on this occasion for pleas of the forest of the same earl in the said county from the time when Edmund, earl of Lancaster, father of the said Henry, whose heir he is, held pleas of the forest in the same forest by virtue of a grant made to him by Edward I. The king also sends out his writ of eyre [recited] to the sheriff of Lancashire.

County: Lancashire.

Witnessed by the king at Newcastle upon Tyne.
