Description

Folio: 70v. County of Lancaster. Indenture.

First party: John [John of Gaunt], duke of Lancaster.

Second party: William de Faryngton and John, his brother.

Place or subject: The duke grants the moiety of of the manor of Leylond [Leyland] to them, their executors and assigns for 35 years, paying for the first five years the old rent and for the 30 years following the old rent with an increase in relation to their portion of £140. Also mentions the manors of Ulneswalton [Ulnes Walton] and Eccliston [Eccleston].

County: [Lancashire].

Additional people: Godfrey Foliaumbe [Foljambe], steward of the duke's lands.

Dated at Poumfrat [Pontefract].

Monday next after the feast of the Assumption of St Mary 40 Edw III.
