Folios: 65v-66. County of Lancaster. Indenture.
First party: Thomas, earl of Lancaster.
Second party: Hugh de Cliderowe [Clitheroe].
Place or subject: With the consent of the said earl and Hugh, a certain deed obligatory was delivered to Roger, abbot of Cokersant [Cockersand], Lancs, in which the said Hugh is bound to the said earl in £100 sterling, which he received from the same earl in London on the morrow of Michaelas 5 Edw II [30 Sept 1311], to be paid to the same earl on showing this deed in the abbey of Cokersant [Cockersand] at Easter next after the date of these presents without further delay. Hugh also binds himself and his heirs to be held in £20 by the present deed in aid of the Holy Land, if he happens to make default in the payment of the said £100 on the said day and place.
