Captured ship: La Jeune Marguérite (master Laurent Müller).
History: a French merchant ship (290 tons, 20 men), bound from Guadeloupe to Bordeaux, laden with sugar, coffee, cotton; taken on 31 August or 1 September 1779 in latitude 38°'N, longitude 58°'W of Paris by HMS Diamond (John Linzie commanding), HMS Monmouth (Robert Fanshaw commanding), HMS Dromedary (William Lockhart commanding), and brought into Plymouth.

21 ships paper volumes (SPV 1-SPV 21), dated 1776-1779, added from HCA 32/493/1 in October 2023.
