Part 2, Folios 106-109. Letter from the Countess of Sunderland to the Prince of Orange relating at some length the intention of the Roman Catholics to enlist the support of the Prince for the abolition of the Test Acts and penal laws, and warning the Prince that to concur would do his cause more harm than good. She also explains that for safety the letter is enclosed with one for the Princess. She mentions Mr Sidney [Colonel Sydney], Monsieur Dixfield [Everard van Dyckvelt] and Monsieur Bentinck. There is also a lengthy postscript explaining that the letter was not despatched sooner because the King, on the promptings of certain Papists, was making enquiries about the Countess's correspondence.
