Part 1, Folios 82-83. Letter from the Marquis de Caretto y Grana to the Prince of Orange. I have nothing to tell your Highness about our affairs, except the gratitude we ought to feel for all you have done and wish to do for us. I send you some original letters and I beg you to remark the Nota Benes I have put. That has made me wish to undertake some thing in Brabant, joined with the news of the sixth sent me from Paris. I hope in a month to have all the cavalry remounted. The Estates of Brabant grant me 200,000 florins. When you come, you will see people happy to do their duty. The French plunder everywhere. They have not stirred from Lessines. See what Taaffe sends me from Germany. I believe that by this time Vienna has been delivered. Have pity on us I beg.
