Part 1, Folios 194-195. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange. From the Prince's letter of the 11th, the Duke sees that he is troubled at the King's last answer to him concerning the proposals made by Monsieur Citters. The Duke says that in England 'we here are troubled that none of the proposals made by the French have been harkened unto nor none made to them which might probably be accepted by them, there being nothing more desired here than that all Christendom may be in peace' which he fears will hardly be brought about now that the French king 'sets out so soon for the army'. He mentions the arrival of a rich East India ship that has brought a good account of the Company's concerns about interlopers.
