Part 1, Folios 190-191. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange. The Duke sees from the Prince's letters that he is making all the preparations for war and has sent more troops into Flanders but if what he (the Duke) hears from France is true of the Emperor having advised the Spanish to accept the truce, he hopes there may yet be peace. He is sorry that the Prince is not satisfied with the King's answer to the proposals made by Monsieur Citters in the name of the allies but the King could give no other.
