Part 1, Folios 188-189. Letter dated at Newmarket [Suffolk] from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange. After remarks about the cold, fox hunting and the horse racing (in relation to which he mentions the two famous horses Dragon and Whynot), he observes that while all is quiet in England he is sorry that is not the case on the Prince's side of the water. He sees that the Prince has not yet seen the King's answer to the proposals given by the allies but could have wished they had been more reasonable that some good might have come of them.
