Part 1, Folios 186-187. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange remarking on the difference in effect the cold weather has in Holland as against England. He is very glad the Prince has escaped having any colds as he used to have. He reports the death of the Countess of Scarsdale 'a very handsome young woman' and then goes on to give news from Jamaica of some pirates {[n the pay of France] commanded by one Laurens [de Graaf] going from St Domingo to attack Cartagena and that the Duke of Monmouth is lying low since his return from Flanders.
