Part 1, Folios 166-167. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange. The Duke had already heard the good news of the taking of Gran [Hungary] and is as sorry as anybody that the war has started in Flanders. He hopes that while the winter lasts some accommodation may be found to achieve peace. The date for Algernon Sidney's trial [for treason as he was implicated in the Rye House Plot] has been set for a week hence, Wednesday 17 November.
