Part 1, Folios 162-163. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange that the business of the city of London's charter has ended, the King having caused the judgement against it to be entered thereby meaning the corporation has ceased to exist and lost all privileges. The people who voted against submitting to the King's proposal 'are [now] very angry with themselves and their Recorder [George]Treby'. The King has started to settle the city's government, the new Lord Mayor, Sir William Pritchard, and two Sheriffs having been sworn in; the aldermen will be named before the King leaves for Newmarket.
