Part 1, Folios 91-92. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange. 'I could not refuse this bearer Monsieur Van Leuwen [Leeuwen] to write to you by him, though I have already done it by Sir William Temple, his Majesty having thought fit he should go back into Holland the better to persuade the States of his readiness to stick by them in case France continue in their unreasonable demands, and I hope his going at this time will have a very good effect since I find he is now of the mind he should be'.
