Part 1, Folios 84-85. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange about the alarm caused by a letter from Sir Leoline Jenkins in which he said the French were being difficult about restoring the towns in Flanders to the Spanish until the Swedes had entire satisfaction. Further letters are expected as to whether or not the French persist in this unreasonable demand. In the meantime 20 complete companies of foot of the newly raised men and 500 'commanded' men under orders to go to Ireland have been stopped until the truth is known. The House of Lords has extended the time for disbanding the newly raised troops and the Duke hopes the Commons will agree.
