Part 1, Folios 78-79. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange. The Duke understands the Prince's apprehension of the adverse consequences that the peace may have both for Holland and England and advises that it is good to foresee possible dangers, to provide the best one can against them, not be surprised if the worst happens but then not despair 'and give over the game'. The Duke is confident that if the Prince stays among his friends at the Hague the faction against him will be able to do him little harm.
