Part 1, Folios 68-69. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange. There has been no change in the state of affairs. The King was so offended by the Commons' Address to which his answer 'was that it was so extravagent an Address that he was not willing speedily to give them the answer it deserved' and to show his further displeasure prorogued both Houses until 23 May 'in hope by that time to bring them into a better temper'. The Duke is not hopeful of an improvement and expects 'great disorders here or at least great difficulties so that it will be all we can do to keep things quiet at home'. He is telling the Prince this so that he (the Prince) 'may not take wrong measures'.
