Part 1, Folios 53-54. Letter dated at London from the Duke of York to the Prince of Orange that he is of the same mind as the Prince and what the latter desires must be done and the King will have a positive answer by the end of the Easter holidays. The Duke is absolutely of the opinion that, knowing the temper of the French, there will be a war and wishes that the Commons would do their part 'as well as we shall do ours....but they have such groundless jealousies in their heads that they make no advances in the providing the rest of the money'.
