Folios 231-232: William Gordon Rutherford, Sea Fencibles, Colchester. Encloses a letter from Lieutenant John Henry Holmes. Captain Dolby informs him that a John Bull was impressed by the Officers on that service in Sunderland and that he was there on board the tender at Shields. He has served in the Sea Fencibles and has five children. He was impressed from the Mistley Iron (Mr Long, Master).
Folios 237-238: enclosure with folios 231-232. Letter dated 16 April 1808 by John Henry Holmes, Harwich, to the Admiralty. Concerning Captain Rutherford disapproval of his conduct and his reasons for his actions.
