Petitions and letters: Two petitions from Mary Witt, first of 2 Smiths Place, Snow Hill, then of 52 Long Lane, Smithfield, the prisoner's mother, pleading innocence, led astray by 'evil companions' and previous good character, the first with certificates from James Hellins of 60 Snow Hill, boot maker, and John Davies of 35 Baltic Street, Old Street, shoemaker, the prisoner's former employers, testifying to his good conduct.
