Description

Prisoner name: Henry Knapp, aged 35.

Court and Date of Trial: Leicester Quarter Sessions, June 1847.

Crime: Stealing a pig trough, value six pence.

Initial sentence: Seven years transportation.

Gaoler's Report: Convicted before. Conduct good on board Stirling Castle hulk.

Outcome: Free pardon, 10 December 1849.

Petitions and letters: Two petitions from 22 and nine inhabitants of Chadwell cum Wycombe, pleading innocence, previous good character and good conduct in prison and will be employed when released, with covering letter.

Petition from the Reverend J Healy, vicar of Scalford Vicarage, Melton Mowbray, pleading previous good character and conduct.
