Description

Folios 491-492: William Croft, Regulating Captain, Impress Service. Concerning the petition of John Philips, Commander of the private ship of war, Hawke, and the pressing of men from her.

Folios 493-494: enclosure with folios 491-492. Undated petition of John Phillips, commander of the Hawke, operating with a letter of marque, from which John Allen, Edward Garland, Edward Clements and William Wood were pressed. Requests their release.
