Description

Captured ship: Hope of Schiedam (master unknown).

History: a Dutch fishing vessel (buss, 25 tons); taken [by 22 October/1 November 1673] by HMS Anne ([Thomas] Elliot commanding) and brought into Sandwich on 22 October/1 November 1673; sent from thence on 24 October/4 November 1673 to London, but had to stop at Broadstairs because she was in danger of sinking.

Court Paper, numbered CP 1:

  • [CP 1]: certificate, Sandwich, 31 October 1673;

Extra information: See IND 1/9012 f.34v: condemned 16 February 1673/1674. Depositions are mentioned, but have not been found.
