Captured ship: Hope of London otherwise Love of London (master Robert Russell, otherwise Ressell]; prize master Cornelis Arens of Flushing).
History: an English merchant ship (fluit, 200 tons, built in the Dutch Republic, 16 prize crew when retaken), bound from Malaga to London, laden with wine and fruit; taken [along with other English ships from Malaga, after an 11-hour fight, with 11 crew killed] on [6/16] November about 50 leagues from the mouth of the Channel [80 leagues west of Scilly] by the 16-gun Dutch privateer Hope of Flushing (Jacob Vogel commanding, otherwise Jacob Vogells), then sent in for Flushing; retaken on 10/20 November 1672 between Falmouth and Plymouth by HMS Pearl (John Ashby commanding) and brought into Plymouth about 2 days later.
