Description

Captured ship: Hope of Hamburg (master John Wilde, otherwise Mild).

History: a Hamburg merchant ship (120 tons), bound from Rouen to London, laden with paper, teazels, silk, figs, raisins and other goods; taken about 26 April/6 May 1672 off the South Foreland by [the privateer John of Dover (John Steele commanding)] and brought into Dover.

  • [CP 2]: one examination taken at Dover, 8 May 1672.
